GIVING PODCASTERS A BOOST

Make Any Tuesday a Giving Tuesday!

Many of you know Giving Tuesday as the yearly celebration of giving, generosity and helping each other out post-Thanksgiving. “Giving” can mean donating, volunteering, thanking or another act of generosity. But wouldn’t it be better if generosity, thankfulness, and donation of time and resources was a regular occurrence?

To further the spirit of Giving Tuesday, The Binge Factor has partnered up with other podcasters, like Brett De Hoedt of The Hardest Word Podcast, and organizations around the world, like #GivingTuesdayNow Australia and the UK Partner Podcast Radio.

As part of the campaign, podcasters can give other creators what they want more than anything else – new listeners and more publicity!

Every Tuesday, Tracy Hazzard, host of The Binge Factor, will release a short, special episode recommending two or more podcasts to her subscribers. Listen in to get great new and under-appreciated shows that deserve more listeners.

Give By Recommending a Podcaster!

Podcasters and passionate podcast listeners can recommend any podcast they like. (Remember, we’re being generous, so pay it forward to other podcasters!) It’s that simple. Send them to the #GivingTuesdayPodcasts Form to apply. You can also spread your recommendations via social media using
hashtag #givingtuesdaypodcasts.

Social Giving Recommendation Tips

  • Explain that you are supporting #GivingTuesdayPodcasts and encourage other passionate podcast listeners to do likewise.
  • Make your recommendations diverse to support independent, niche and obscure productions. (Joe and Marc are doing just fine.)
  • Be sure to include the @ handles of the podcasts you recommend on your social posts, throw in #givingtuesdaypodcasts, and tag Tracy Hazzard or The Binge Factor using the following handles. That’ll help Tracy promote your recommendations even further even if she when she can’t feature every show recommendation.

  • Make your recommendations diverse to support independent, niche and obscure productions. (Don’t even think about charging for this!)

  • Your Giving Tuesday Podcast episode will be listened to by a lot of newcomers so you might also want to introduce yourself like this:

Hey there! Tracy Hazzard here, host of The Binge Factor. Usually I talk to top podcasters about how they created a bingeable, successful show and sharing actionable tips on how to increase listeners and engagement, get great guests and produce a more professional show.

But today as part of Giving Tuesday Podcasts, I’m going to give some time to shows you may not have heard of before – new and under-appreciated podcasts you should be listening to, guesting on, and more importantly sharing with others.
